Mobile Apps

Apps people open every day, not once.

Cross-platform iOS and Android apps for customers, field teams and employees, built with Flutter or React Native and backed by secure APIs.

Mobile App Development at INTELLIA, in brief

INTELLIA develops iOS and Android apps with Flutter and React Native from a single codebase, plus native Kotlin or Swift where a feature demands it. Typical projects include customer self-service apps, field-force and driver apps with offline mode and GPS, and employee apps for attendance, leave and approvals, connected to existing ERP, HR and CRM systems.

Apps that get installed, then ignored

A mobile app is only valuable if it makes a frequent task faster than the alternative. Many business apps fail because they copy the website onto a small screen, break when connectivity drops, or cannot reach the back-office data users actually need.

  • Duplicate effort building and maintaining separate iOS and Android apps
  • Field staff losing work when signal drops
  • No integration with ERP, HR or dispatch systems
  • App store rejections and slow release cycles

Capabilities

What our Mobile Apps team delivers

  • Cross-platform apps

Flutter or React Native apps that share most code across iOS and Android without sacrificing native feel.

  • Field-force and driver apps

Offline-first job lists, GPS tracking, photo and signature capture, barcode scanning and sync when back online.

  • Employee self-service

Attendance with geofencing, leave, payslips, approvals and announcements, connected to your HRMS.

  • Customer apps

Ordering, bookings, loyalty, account management and support chat, with secure payments.

  • Back-end APIs and admin

Secure APIs, push notifications, admin consoles and analytics behind every app.

  • Store release and maintenance

App Store and Google Play submission, OS-version updates, crash monitoring and staged rollouts.

Our approach

How a typical engagement runs

  1. 1

    Define the daily job

We identify the two or three tasks users will repeat most and design the app around them.

  2. 2

    Prototype on real devices

A clickable prototype tested with real users on mid-range Android phones as well as flagship devices.

  3. 3

    Build in sprints

Internal test builds every sprint via TestFlight and Play internal testing.

  4. 4

    Harden for the real world

Offline behavior, poor-network testing, battery use, accessibility and security review.

  5. 5

    Release and measure

Staged rollout, crash and usage analytics, and a backlog driven by real behavior.

Native, cross-platform or progressive web app?

Approach Choose it when Trade-off
Cross-platform (Flutter, React Native) You need iOS and Android with one team and budget Occasional native work for device-specific features
Fully native (Swift, Kotlin) Heavy use of device hardware, AR or maximum performance Two codebases to build and maintain
Progressive web app Infrequent use, no need for store presence or deep device access Limited background processing and notifications on iOS

For most business apps, cross-platform is the right default.

What makes a field app succeed?

Field teams judge an app in the first week. The features that matter most are fast start-up, a job list that works offline, one-tap status updates, photo capture that does not fail on weak networks, and battery-friendly location tracking. We test on the mid-range Android devices field staff actually carry, not only on flagship phones.

Apps that extend our products

Several INTELLIA products ship with mobile companions: driver and supervisor apps for NAVIX, employee self-service for RAINMAKER HRMS, parent and student apps for eSchool, and technician apps for FMS. The same team builds custom apps for clients, with design from our UI/UX practice and test coverage from software testing and QA.

Pricing and engagement

How we work together

Mobile projects usually start with a fixed-scope first release and continue on a retainer, because operating-system updates and store policies change every year.

  • MVP release

    Best for: New apps

Fixed scope covering design, build, API and store submission for both platforms.

  • App extension

    Best for: Existing platforms

A mobile companion for a system you already run, such as an ERP, HRMS or LMS.

  • Maintenance plan

    Best for: Live apps

OS updates, crash fixes, dependency upgrades and a monthly block of feature hours.

We do not publish fixed prices because scope drives cost. Every proposal states assumptions, inclusions and exclusions.

FAQ

Mobile Apps: common questions

Should we choose Flutter or React Native?

Both are mature. Flutter gives very consistent UI across devices and strong performance; React Native suits teams that already use React and TypeScript on the web. We recommend based on your existing team, UI needs and required native features.

Do we need separate apps for iOS and Android?

Usually not. A cross-platform framework lets one codebase serve both, typically sharing 85 to 95 percent of code. Native modules are added only where a feature needs them.

How long does it take to build a business app?

A focused first release generally takes 10 to 16 weeks including design, API work and store submission. Apps that extend an existing system with good APIs can be faster.

Can the app work without internet?

Yes. For field and driver apps we store data locally, queue changes and synchronize when a connection returns, with clear indicators of what has and has not synced.

Will you publish the app to the stores under our account?

Yes. Apps are published under your Apple and Google developer accounts so you retain ownership. We handle the submission process and store listing details.

How is app data secured?

We use token-based authentication, encrypted storage for sensitive data on the device, TLS for all traffic, certificate pinning where appropriate, and server-side authorization on every API call.
